March socks.............................

I finally grafted the last toe last night. The new wooden blockers are lovely. They are the second 'extra' in the Socktopus Bells and Whistles Sock Club. There is a lovely cut-out motif of a ball of yarn and needles, thank you Alice.

The socks are No Purl Monkeys in Posh Yarns Emily ~ Pomegranate. Dpns 2.75mm and a 14 stitch pattern instead of 16 stitches. The cuff is a 2x2 rib instead of twisted rib. I just think it suits the yarn better. :)

I also finished the first of another pair of No Purl Monkeys in Fiesta Baby Boomerang ~ Rainforest. Dpns 2.5mm and a full 16 stitch pattern. This sock also has a 2x2 rib cuff. :) I really like this yarn, it is sleek and well twisted, a bit like STR or Jitterbug. As you can see, no pooling either. I got the yarn from The Loopy Ewe.
One more sock to go and then to cast on for my Monkey Sock Swap 4 socks. :)

Alpine..........................................YPF

This week's Yarn Fest comes from Dee at Posh Yarns. I had set my heart on this skein and was lucky to get it. It is a virtual free for all on Sunday evenings!!! I often miss the 6pm rush as family events are likely to mean a late return home on a Sunday. This Easter I deliberately 'popped home on a message' and got my Alpine :)

It is really really soft and silky to the touch :) I loved all the spring colours that Dee and Tony produced for Easter. :D

What have you all been doing this Easter holidays?

This is what I have been up to, knitting wise. I have knit a bit more of my Red Rib and Cable Cardigan. I had to order more yarn in case I ran out and couldn't get the right dyelot!!

I also knit up some more of the many socks I have on needles at the moment.

More Monkeys knit with Posh Emily in Pomegranate: No purl and a 14 stitch modification using 2.75mm dpns.

Baby Boom Monkeys, colourway Rainforest. No purl modification only and knit on 2.5mm dpns.
I love these colours together and the yarn has a lovely tight twist. :)

And I started the Sulka scarf, I just couldn't help myself!!

So instead of getting some WiPs out of the way I started more. I also ordered the yarn to knit Holly from a fellow Raveller
and some Merino from Natalie to make Cranford mitts. Who would think that it would snow at Easter!!

Back to work tomorrow and the main pc has gone back again today!! Here's hoping that it is fixed!! I enjoy being able to record my TV programmes to my hard drive and watch them later. :)

Happy Easter everyone

Have a Happy Easter everyone, enjoy the chocolate and I hope the weather is reasonable where ever you are in the world. :)

This was my Easter Egg to myself this year. I had wanted some ever since cuddling it at This is Knit in Blackrock Co Dublin. It is Mirasol Sulka (merino/alpaca and silk) and so soft and cuddly. My 3 year old just wrapped a skein around his neck and says "MINE!" :D

I have started a reversible stitch pattern scarf with this as I couldn't resist it!! I'm weak!!!!

At last a Finished Item!

I recently posted photographs of lovely pink cashmere yarn from Hipknits. Well this experiment with a new technique resulted in this ruffle scarf. Light enough for spring but still soft and warm. I will need to test knit the pattern but then hope to write it up. :) Do you like it?

Feels like nothing much to show!

Making progress on My Basic Black Cardigan. One third the way up the back now. I love Wool Cotton yarn. :)

My Posh Emily No Purl Monkeys in Pomegranate, now half way through the second sock.

And just got to the heel of my Baby Boom Monkeys in Rainforest. This yarn feels abit like Jitterbug to the touch, very tightly spun. :)
Slow but steady at the moment, I feel like the tortoise but I know I will get there :)

Making progress slowly

I am making slow progress with a number of WiPs. I am really loving the colour of the cashmerino for my 2nd Rib and Cable Cardigan from Debbie Bliss.

I am also knitting my way through The Basic Black Cardigan and several pairs of socks. I am also itching to make a start on a new bag idea..............................I need more time. It's a pity that all the Timeturners are all broken! :) My PiF gifts are getting there too :)

I have wound one ball already in anticipation :) But I have a couple of PIF gifts to finish first and then I will start! :)

Parcels..............................numero uno

I have had a few parcels turn up this week. The first is my swap parcel from Craftythreads'n'yarn forum February swap parcel. We swapped a small, approx 20 grams of sock yarn, some stitchmarkers and as an extra my swap pal also sent me a lovely treat. Thank you!!
